Nurture "Their delight is in the law of the Lord, and on God's law they meditate day and night." -- Psalm 1:2
The "Nurture" ministries of the Wesley Foundation invite and encourage the members of the Georgia Tech community to
approach their spiritual life with the same passion and intellectual integrity as they approach their academic work.
Many of our seminars are similar in scope and content to what undergraduate students would encounter in religion or
philosophy classes at other universities. We also offer seminars that invite participants to experience how the arts
shape, reflect, and challenge common understandings of what it means to live "the good life".
A Look at The Book Bible study
Tuesdays, 11:00 AM September 2 - November 17 (No meeting on October 14)
"A Look at the Book" is a Bible Study designed not to insult your intelligence. We spend a lot of time discussing the context in which
the Bible was written, engage in in-depth study of the Bible, and discuss parallels in ancient and modern times and how the Bible
addresses those parallels.
Faculty / Staff Book Study Wednesdays, 1:45 - 2:45 PM
Each semester, a group of faculty, staff, and grad students gather to discuss a book that approaches religion and spirituality from an academic, rather than devotional, perspective. The book for this fall semester has not been selected yet. Past books include: Christ and Culture by H. Richard Niebuhr, A Hidden Wholeness by Parker Palmer, A History of God by Karen Armstrong, Exploring Reality: The Intertwining of Science and Religion by John Polkinghorne, Q'uran and Woman by Amina Wadud, Leaving Church by Barbara Brown Taylor, When Jesus Came to Harvard by Harvey Cox, The Luminous Web by Barbara Brown Taylor, and Enough by Bill McKibben.
